Mid February we took about 23 youth to CAMP WOW for our spring retreat. Of course Grant and I talked forever about wanting to make sure we got a group pic and got home having completely forgotten!!! UGH!!! Oh well. We had an incredible time. The only goal of the weekend was for each person to have an encounter with God and that totally happened!
Each of our youth really had a connection with God and hearing the stories was truly moving. 2 of the youth got up and shared how they were really alone and didn't have many friends before they started coming to Antioch and now they feel truly loved.
It was a sweet time for me to look across the room and realize that God is building this group! For the last (almost) 2 years Grant and I have been building this youth ministry from the ground up. Starting with 3 youth and now we have around 40! But the part that is amazing for me is that we are gathering ones that were truly disconnected from church and are now feeling a part of the family.
These last 2 years have been some of the hardest and some of the most rewarding as we give our lives to see the youth of Norman be transformed. I can't wait to see what it will look like in another 2 years!!
